Symphony is just the latest attack on Bloomberg’s fortress

 

The aim was to create a rival to the ubiquitous Bloomberg terminals by building an industry utility that connected each independent internal network in a way that was still secure and legally compliant.

Yet by the end of last year, the gap in market share between it and its closest rival Thomson Reuters had actually widened, with Bloomberg taking 32 per cent of the financial data market and Thomson Reuters taking 26 per cent according to Burton-Taylor International Consulting LLC, which monitors industry trends.  Full Story

Financial Market Data/News Demand, 2015 & 2016 - Global Survey Results

 

Burton-Taylor surveyed 75 global market data or news vendor executives, analysts, users and consultants, asking them to forecast 2015 and 2016 organic growth in spend by individual market data user segments, by individual regions and for individual product types. The results show a clear "demand compass" for users (from hedge funds to risk managers), for regions (from West to East) and for products (from desktops to datafeeds).
