Burton-Taylor
Douglas B Taylor is founder and
Managing Partner of Burton-Taylor International
Consulting LLC, a business consulting
organization focused on helping companies
improve performance through improved
Market Intelligence (Sector or Customer Research),
Strategic Planning
(BU/Company or Service/Product Strategy) and
Revenue Generation
(Marketing or Sales Plans).
Mr. Taylor founded the company after leaving a
role as Managing Director, Customer Segment
Management, Marketing & Product Development, for
Thomson Financial
in Asia, where he headed the Investment
Management (Asset Management), Investment
Banking & Research, Institutional Equities and
Retail Wealth Management business units. He also
led Marketing and Product Development for the
region. Mr. Taylor's team completed ground
breaking market, competitor, customer and user
needs research, and defined a strategy which is
growing Thomson revenue in the region from $60
million to $200 million, over only five years.
Mr. Taylor was also Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
at
Insurance Technologies,
leading the research & strategy, communications
and sales enablement teams, serving the annuity
and life software sectors and, before joining
Thomson, was at
Microsoft
responsible for channel partner business
strategy and relationship management in their
largest customer segment.
Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Taylor spent 15 years at
Reuters, in
North America, South America and Europe. His
roles ranged from managing sales & marketing in
Brazil, where his teams grew revenue 225% and
clients 600%, to heading marketing and product
management for Reuters News globally, where his
team was responsible for $450 million in revenue
and worldwide commercial distribution policy.
Mr. Taylor has 27 years financial services,
information and analytics background, carries an
MBA in Marketing and Management and a BBA in
Finance from the University of Oklahoma, holds
six
unique market research and analysis trademarks,
and is a Board member of
First State Financial Inc.
